Railway Empire 2
I have been trying to make a hard start and hopefully fun to manage version of this game. Unlike the RT family, there is no map editor and the game people don't seem to allow posts of saved games. In my latest attempt at a slow start, I monkeyed with the cash to get a measly 77,608DM starting amount...

Re: Four Roads to Berlin
I am sorry that I missed this discussion. This was one of my favorite scenarios and I am glad that there are still new players out there. RulerofRails usually figures out how to beat me at my own game.

Re: Railway Empire
I agree with your comments on signals and goofy rivals, but since RE2 is currently the best way to get my railroad fix I will continue to support the game - warts and all. After a while, the track planning works well, despite the single track signal annoyances on automatic and other glitches. My big...

Re: Hi to all.
$164.000 in cash and a Ticket to Ride Bangor to San Francisco connection with hardly any dog legs accomplished before 1836 on our super hard setting - wow. edit: and you did it in 10 hours and 31 minutes. That's how much time I spent on just the gold rush. This needs to get posted on the RE2 Steam F...

Re: Hi to all.
Sounds like you improved (or perhaps unimproved) on what I did. I will have to try Boston. It seems that making NYC an objective, rather than ignoring it as I did for a very long time, would then make the game more interesting to me. Right now I am doing the gold rush scenario in RE2. Yes, I would l...

Of course I remember my Grandma who imported booze from Canada to the US.

Re: Hi to all.
What is your target? Just to survive, build the transcontinental eventually, or? Just to survive and to experiment with things to see how they work. I stopped the custom experiment and went back to the scenarios (Florida) to see what the latest upgrade is doing. I noticed that the bonds now have 3 ...

Re: Hi to all.
I stand corrected. I have played too many RR games, but RT2&3 are still my all time favorites.

Re: Hi to all.
I did discover a weakness with RE2 refunds for only 5 days. I think you get refunds for engines you scrap. Especially if you go to edit the line and remove the engine. This is probably so that upgrading to a new engine doesn't cost an absolute fortune, but it is not realistic. The problem I face is...

Re: Hi to all.
Interesting, so you are trying to negate the "bonuses." What about using dozing to adjust your cash balance for those connections you want and just letting the others expire? I don't quite understand your process or it's intention. I am only human, so I need to remove the temptation to us...

I found and zipped the file, but don't know what to do with it. Oh, and I used Barti.RulerofRails wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 12:10 am
PS. Are you having trouble finding the save files, or actually zipping and uploading one onto this site?
I have got to follow you more closely. I am just now downloading the Train World demo.

Re: Hi to all.
So, this seems to be the RE2 thread. If you want a North America thru the Ages type of experience, you can set up a custom game with hard settings, $1 million in cash, no refunds after 5 minutes, inflation (try just moderate first), increase the building costs as much as you can and reduce the reven...

Re: Railway Empire
Thanks RoR for the update. You should post this on Steam under both games. Lots of good stuff for the developers to think about. But for me, after 2 years of not playing RE and with 5 new maps, I will get my moneys worth. Then, to a await RC2, (I tried to create an RC map, but gave up when I lost al...

Re: Railway Empire
I hadn't played RE since late 2019, but decided to buy the latest upgrades and revisit the game. Yes, it is better than I remembered. Comparing it to Railroad Corporation, it is more developed and has more user content and although placing signals can be a pain at times, that's one of the few drawba...

Freight Yards
Lately, I have been playing Cities Skyline and Surviving Mars. In both of these games, individual buildings demand and produce cargoes. In Cities, trucks come and pick up the cargo and deliver it to a specific location - store, industry or yard. In Mars, bots come and pick up the loads from ships, y...

Re: Railroad Corporation
RulerofRails is actually an expert on both of these games and I agree with him fully. Both games are worth playing and hopefully one day one of them will exceed RT3.

Re: Railroad Corporation
I am now trying to figure out how to play the free DLC and having no luck. I subscribed days ago to 4 of them and still don't see them in the Campaign/DLC section. They are in the Editor section, but you can't play them from there.
